The image of 17 IN THE DISTILLERY KETTLE 57 is that of a boiler for distilling spirits, also known as a brandy boiler. On other gable stones therefore names such as "brandy kettle" are used. The majority of the representations on gable stones relate to trades and crafts, in this case distilleries.

In 1757 this house - then called THE DEER - was bought, demolished and rebuilt by wine distiller Christiaan Bronckers.
