In 1759 this property was called "In het Duyfke" (= in the pigeon). In het duyfke was originally a store in coffee, tea and cakes. When this business moved to Wolfstraat 37 in the middle of the 19th century, the house name was taken as a trademark. The gable stone was left behind for understandable reasons. On Wolfstraat, the name IN HET DUIFJE was inscribed with copper letters in the white marble sidewalk, and these are still partially visible there today.
